A quick guide to fragrance families and notes
Fragrance families. These group perfumes with similar characteristics, such as floral, woody or citrus scents.
Fragrance notes. The scents you can pick out in a perfume, such as rose, lemon or vanilla.
Top notesThese create your first impression when you apply a perfume.
Heart notesThese emerge as the top notes fade, forming the heart of the fragrance.
Base notesThese last the longest, adding depth as the fragrance develops.
Notes blend together and can be perceived at the same time.
Choose a note to see which other notes you can combine it with. Notes selected within the same phase must all be present in the perfume.

Families and subtypes. Select a family to see all its perfumes. Choose one or more subtypes to narrow the results, or select “View all” to return to the whole family.
Every note in its place. Rose as a top note is different from rose as a heart note. The finder follows the fragrance pyramid listed on each product page.
Combine your preferences. Select “Flowers” in the top notes and “Oud” in the base notes to find perfumes with both. If you choose several notes within one phase, all must be present. For families, brands and perfumers, a match with any of your selected options is enough.
Note groups or individual notes. “Flowers” includes notes such as rose, jasmine, neroli and tuberose. You can also search for an individual note. Notes without a specified phase are not assigned to the top, heart or base.
