The city of Lima stands out for the richness of its traditions, among which faith occupies a special and deeply rooted place in its culture.

In his childhood memories, he is transported to the heart of the Limeño Center, just in front of the majestic Church of the Nazarenas, where he presented one of the most imposing religious manifestations: the procession of the Lord of Miracles. This event, celebrated every October, also known as the purple month, has lasted for more than three centuries, gathering crowds in devotion and fervor.

The environment surrounding the procession is enriched with a culinary parade that delights the senses. The traditional anticuchos, seasoned with the most emblematic condiments of Peruvian cuisine, impregnate the air with its tempting aroma, inviting themselves and strangers to taste their unparalleled flavor.

The sweets do not miss in this festival either; The famous nougat, a crunchy preparation of honey, confits and guindones, becomes the protagonist between the desserts. Together with him, the Mazamorra Morada, made with pineapple, apple, cinnamon and nail, and the always appreciated rice with milk, sweeten the palate of those who participate in the celebration.

To accompany these delights, the traditional cachina provides its special touch. This liquor, originally from the city of Chincha and known for its sweetness and grape-based elaboration, perfectly complements the gastronomic experience of the event.

All this conjunction of flavors, aromas and devotion is wrapped in a dense and mystic atmosphere, thanks to the smoke of the incense and myrrh sahumels that fill the atmosphere, creating a unique and deeply spiritual feeling.
